Paintbox Wrap pattern

There is nothing like staying at home for real comfort.

Paintbox Wrap is inspired by Jane Austen’s ability to take ordinary life and make it extraordinary, and it was created from Little Skein’s 2017 subscription box colors, each of which was inspired by Jane Austen.

The wrap is a simple shape: a rectangle knit on the bias to form a parallelogram. The stitches are simple, as well. There are ordinary increases, decreases and yarn-overs that create a gently waving lace pattern, separated by bands of garter stitch. All together, with a paintbox set of mini-skeins and your favorite neutral color, Paintbox becomes a satisfyingly complex project, full of color and style—like Jane’s deceptively domestic novels, where there is so much more than meets the eye.

Play with color and size as you create your own Paintbox wrap. You can use six, seven, or eight 25g mini-skeins and a single 100g skein of a neutral color to knit the wrap as a generous small, medium or large size. Choose your favorite colors, line them up, stash bust, use up remainders from other beloved projects, or find a new set of mini-skeins that makes your heart sing.
