  • Anne, a white woman, is smiling at the camera and wearing overalls.

Welcome! I'm Anne. I hand-dye yarn, make kits for knitters, and write a really great newsletter.

  • This is my beagle, Molly. She likes to steal yarn.

  • Let's Knit Together!

I believe that knitting, crochet, and making things by hand can be a life-changing practice. It can help counter all the -isms that make life hard, especially in turbulent times.

If you would love to be part of a diverse, inclusive space where your liberal values can thrive right along with your knitting or crochet practice? Welcome! You have found your people.

    Free knitting help

While my own creative practice includes hand-dyeing yarn that I offer in my shop, I’m also a dedicated knitter who has knit for a few hours every day for years and years. With this substantial knitting expertise in my “toolkit," I offer free knitting advice and project inspiration in my blog, project pages on Ravelry, and write a free newsletter that gets delivered straight to your in-box; no algorithms or apps to check.

    One-on-one help + community

If you’d like more knitting help and to feel like part of a really nourishing community of like-minded knitters, you’re invited to join my my Knit Together membership community (via Substack)! For just $6 a month (less than the cost of a fancy coffee these days), you get:

    • 1-on-1 knitting help from me during my monthly office hours, live on Zoom. Get unstuck from that project that's been sitting too long. Get help planning project mods to suit your style and body.
    • 50% off my knitting patterns as they're released.
    • Access to my Swap Shop for hand-knits, a twice-a-year event to help you clean out your closet, find new and knitworthy homes for your unused knitwear, and maybe also add a beautiful new-to-you hand-knit to your own wardrobe.
    • Access to my virtual community care events. These are easy-to-participate-in online “retreats” that help you slow down, lean into our shared liberal values, and tap into an inner well of calm and hope. They happen twice a year, and are wonderful oases of calm in turbulent times.
