  • Anne, a white woman, is smiling at the camera and wearing overalls.

Welcome! I'm Anne. I hand-dye yarn, make kits for knitters, and write a really great newsletter.

  • This is my beagle, Molly. She likes to steal yarn.

  • Fiber Friends cowl pattern

Fiber Friends cowl is built around the idea of friendship. It’s inspired by the incomparable wonder of connecting with people who understand you deeply and love knitting as much as you do, whether it is in your knitting circle or at home, messaging with friends you met on social media.

    About this pattern

    • It uses two strands of yarn, held together, to create a plush and cushy fabric.

    • There are vertical panels of friendship cables and sweet honeycombs, and it’s gently shaped to taper slightly at the top, like a soft hug.

    • I’ve placed most of the cables on a single round so that you have plenty of easy rounds, and just that occasional bit where you need to focus (to keep your knitterly side fully engaged and interested).

The cowl uses nearly all of each skein of yarn, just the way you want to soak up every minute with a good friend.

Finished size: 24.5 inches (61.5 cm) circumference at top edge, 28 inches (70 cm) circumference at bottom edge, and 17.5 inches (44 cm) long

Needles: US size 6 (4.0 mm), or size needed to obtain this gauge
