When is the Swap Shop open? I run the Swap Shop twice a year: July/August and January/February.
What does it cost to participate? It's free to claim an item, but paid members of my newsletter community ($6 a month) get first dibs on claiming (exclusive access for one week). Paid members also get to list items—and the good feelings that come along with rehoming knitwear you no longer wear.
Can folks outside the US participate? Yes! Because the claimant pays shipping, you will be able to see the location (US state or country) of the item you are claiming and my shop system will calculate appropriate shipping.
How do I become a paid newsletter member? You can subscribe or upgrade your subscription here.
I can't afford a paid membership. Can I still participate? Yes! Folks who need a complementary paid membership can request one here. No questions asked. If you need it, we've got you.
How do I list an item? Go here. If you feel at all daunted by the form, you can purchase my concierge service. (Note: when the shop is open for claiming, I temporarily suspend concierge service, in order to best organize and batch my work.)
How much does it cost to list an item? Paid newsletter members can list 2 items in each round (or 4 per year) as part of their membership, which costs $6 per month or $60 per year (18% less than paying monthly). You're also welcome to sign up just for the month of the swap shop, and keep your cost of listing up to 2 items to a flat $6.
I don't know how much my item weighs. Then concierge service is for you! I take care of all these details for you.
How do I claim an item? To claim an item, just purchase the listing on the Swap Shop page. The item itself is free, and you will pay for shipping from the recipient's location to yours.
How much does it cost to claim an item? All items are free, with the recipient paying for shipping. Paid newsletter members get first dibs (for one week) on all items, and I then publicize the shop to everyone in my community to ensure that we find new homes for everything.
