The perfect yarn for hats, cowls, and mitts: soft, squishy pure merino.
House Merino DK is my perfect yarn for heavier-weight accessories. It's a soft and squishy pure merino yarn in a DK weight. It is a bouncy 4-ply yarn that takes on color with joyful abandon.

Colorway: We Don't Have Money for a Taxi
100% superwash merino wool
231 yards | 100 grams
Color notes: Cool buttercup yellow with more generous, yet still tiny, speckles of dark brown and grey.
House Merino DK is a soft and bouncy pure merino wool. It's superwash, so it's easy to care for; though we recommend hand-washing in cool water to help preserve the life of your knitted item.
It's perfect for midweight accessories like cowls, hats, and mitts. It's also a beautiful sweater yarn. Aim for a gauge of stitches per 4 inches, which is usually achieved with a needle size of US 5 to 6 (3.75 to 4 mm).
I use a variety of creative inspirations for my colors, from the colors of my beloved San Francisco, to literature, to Pantone inspirations. Yarn is dyed in small batches, with color applied by hand and using professional acid dyes.
Care: We recommend that you hand wash our yarns in cold or lukewarm water and lay your knitted item flat to dry. While superwash yarns are treated so that they can be machine washed, taking care to wash by hand and air dry will greatly prolong the life of your handknit item.
