The perfect winter yarn: a luxury, aran-weight cashmere blend.
Winter Blend is my perfect fiber blend for winter accessories, an aran-weight MCN yarn that is ultra-soft. It combines of merino, cashmere and nylon with a gentle twist that neither too tight nor too loose. It's soft, super-squishy, beautiful to touch and work with, and takes on lovely icy colors.
Little Skein's House Blend
Colorway options: Age of Winter, Lucy's Cordial, Mr. Tumnus, or White Witch
80% superwash merino wool, 10% cashmere, 10% nylon

Color notes: Winter Blend is a "high strike" yarn which means that color loves to stick quickly and with great love, making some colors more tonal than typical. For example, Mr. Tumnus has more variation between the browns than is typical of a semi-solid. All the colors in our Narnian palette are soft, icy, and tonal.
Winter Blend is a soft and drapey yarn. It's best used for next-to-skin accessories such as shawls, hats, mitts, and cowls.
For accessories, aim for a gauge of 16 to 20 stitches per 4 inches, which is usually achieved with a needle size of US 6 to 8 (4 to 5mm).
The colors for our house yarns are dreamed of in San Francisco, where my home studio is located, and hand-dyed by me in my small studio or by my colleague in Maine.
I use a variety of creative inspirations for my colors, from the colors of my beloved San Francisco, to literature, to Pantone inspirations. I design the yarn from color to style and it is then brought to life by my expert dye partner.
Yarn is dyed in small batches, with color applied by hand and using professional acid dyes.
Care: We recommend that you hand wash our yarns in cold or lukewarm water and lay your knitted item flat to dry. While superwash yarns are treated so that they can be machine washed, taking care to wash by hand and air dry will greatly prolong the life of your handknit item.
