    Tea Rose | Harvest Sport

    1 item left

My Harvest Sport yarn is for the knitter who wants complex, layered color—but on a yarn that's as gentle on the earth as possible.

A small footprint: The wool is a 100% non-superwash merino-rambouillet blend that's grown in the western part of the US. The spinning happens in my home state of North Carolina in one of the few remaining domestic spinning mills that create yarn for hand-knitters.

Bouncy and squishy: The knitted fabric you make with Harvest Sport has body and squish. Its tight twist and 3-ply structure helps it resist pilling for a tiny bit longer than other very soft wools, and cables and texture simply pop in this yarn.

Gentle on the earth, non-superwash, grown and spun domestically

Next to skin soft at 21 microns

Layered and complex color, hand-dyed in my outdoor San Francisco dye studio

Colorway: Tea Rose (super similar to Minuet in Peach, but just that tinier bit pinker, rather than peachy)

Do you need to alternate skeins?

Yes. All of my yarn is dyed by hand in small batches of four skeins. There will be variations in color intensity and placement. I think that’s part of what makes each skein perfect – they’re not identical. If you will be using more than 1 skein in your project, alternate skeins to blend any color differences.

    Caring for your finished item

My wool yarns should always be hand-washed with a gentle wool wash and cold-water rinse.

Depending on the difference in chemistry between your local water and mine, there may be some color residue in the wash process. Washing and rinsing in cold water will help to minimize this.

Always let your knitted item air dry to prevent shrinking or felting and to keep your item looking its best.
