The original Knitters' Rule: laser-cut on eco-friendly bamboo, hand-colored.
KaratStix designs was one of my favorite makers of knitterly tools, and when Karen, the maker behind KaratStix, retired several years ago, I was never able to find a good alternative to her beautifully hand-colored, eco-friendly bamboo tools.
Flash forward to summer this year, when Karen spent some wonderful time teaching me her techniques, and we inked an arrangement for "KaratStix by Little Skein." I'll be making and carrying her entire line of bamboo Knitters' Rules, needle gauges and more, and I'm delighted to debut the very first one as part of my Superfragilistic collection.
This deluxe knitters' rule (KaratStix was the first to use this term!) has a four inch/10 centimeter ruler, and needle gauge for sizes 1.5mm (US 000) to 19mm (US 35). It's laser cut from eco-friendly amber colored bamboo, hand-colored and sealed with a very light water-based varnish. It's a smooth, tactile pleasure to use, and beautiful to look at.
