Darkwater sweater yarn pack

My dye schedule is currently full, but I'll open up preorders again in the summer.

I'm excited to introduce hand-dyed shawl and sweater sets for projects I have knit and love. Yarn is dyed to order, so you'll receive your yarn pack in about 2-3 weeks. I take extra care with it to randomly distribute speckles and ensure a low-contrast tonal variation in the yarn so that it will make the perfect fabric. You'll still need to alternate skeins, but you should be able to achieve the same rich and subtle fabric color that I have.

This yarn pack is for:

Darkwater, a fingering weight colorwork yoke sweater by Jennifer Steingass

Please note: the pattern is not included. You will need to purchase the pattern separately from the designer here.

Choosing a size

The designer recommends choosing a size that 3 to 6 inches larger than your bust. Add the amount of ease you want to your bust measurement and then pick the closest size (or size range) below:

Size At gauge, sweater will measure No. of skeins in your yarn pack Cost
Size A 37.75" 4 skeins $112
Size B, C, D & E 40.75", 43", 46.25", 49.75" 5 skeins $140
Size F & G 53.75", or 56.75" 6 skeins $168
Size H 60" to 70" 7 skeins $196

Modeled view: I have a 35 inch bust and my finished sweater measures 40 inches, so what you see on me is approximately 5 inches of ease. (Honestly, I have a bit of a tummy, so I'm kind-of straight up and down. The extra ease makes the sweater feel not too tight around my midsection and not too baggy.)

Grading bonus: If your bust is larger than ~52," you will likely want to knit a size that's larger than the pattern includes. I am committed to inclusivity; therefore, if you order the size 60" to 70", your order includes 1 complementary hour of grading for an experienced tech editor to grade your pattern to bust measurement + desired ease. (I've already figured out the yarn requirements, so your price is fully inclusive.)

So soft and sproingy!

I purchased a skein of Baby Bird to make socks for my sister and I was so pleased with this yarn when I received it. It’s so soft and sproingy, I kept squeezing it. The colors are just what my sister likes and it’s perfect for the KAL I’m participating in! Will buy again.

I love it!!

My order came in two separate mailings. I just opened the full order today, Land of Tears and a coordinating mini. They are both so beautiful I can't wait to cast on a pair of socks. It will be hard keeping this pair away from my daughter, the colors are just stunning.
