Agaric is a classic triangle shawl, inspired by Beatrix Potter and her love of mushrooms and designed by Knitboop. It was created especially for Little Skein’s Beatrix Box subscription, and kits (and subscriptions) can be found here.
It uses two contrasting colors of yarn. As the shawl increases, there are five patterned sections: a stockinette stitch beginning, garter stitch stripes, a textured section with whimsical bobbles, more garter stitch stripes, and a lace border.
There are a few interesting techniques in the shawl— bobbles, cables that can be worked without a cable needle, and simple lace—just enough to hold your interest and mark your progress.
Agaric is a comfort knit: soothing, inviting, and with luxurious yarn. The result is just as comforting, a beautiful, classic and easy-to-wear triangular wrap.
To knit this shawl, you should be able to:
- Knit and purl
- Increase and decrease stitches
- Follow a video tutorial for cabling and working a bobble
