Kindred Spirits yarn club

  • Closed to new subscribers while I prepare the April shipment. Re-opening on May 1.

  • Yarn that is a kindred spirit.

Is Anne of Green Gables a kindred spirit for you? She is for me and so is knitting. It's the book and craft I reach for, time and again. My Kindred Spirits yarn box brings to life Anne's adventures on Prince Edward Island with a brand new colorway, every other month.

The next skein ships in June.

Join to receive just one surprise skein or subscribe to receive every new Anne of Green Gables-inspired colorway I create. The photo gallery shows the last year's worth of colors, so you can get a sense of my dye style.

Club skeins are dyed on my Smooth Sock base, which is a beautiful, plump and color-loving merino/nylon blend:

    Smooth Sock
    80% superwash merino, 20% nylon
    400 yards | 115g
3-ply construction for plush fabric and optimum stitch definition

If you want more than one skein, just sign up for multiple subscriptions.

Details on how the subscription is charged on the second tab (above).

Shipping to US subscribers is on the house, and the worldwide subscribers receive $10 flat rate shipping.

Watercolor speckles, dyed by hand in San Francisco

I call my style of hand-dyeing watercolor speckles. Each skein has multiple layers of color that blend, shift and merge, with intentional wee tiny random dots of intense color. When dyeing, I focus on what the final fabric will look like. My goal is a fabric that may look semi-solid from a distance but, when viewed closely, shows a depth of subtle color differences.

There will be variations in color intensity and placement. I think that’s part of what makes each skein perfect – they’re not identical. If you will be using more than 1 skein in your project, alternate skeins to blend any color differences.

My First One!

This is my first yarn subscription I have bought so I was so excited to get my first one. The yarn is a beautiful tonal color with some wisps of other colors in the skein as well. Looking forward to my next one!

Beauty

The yarn is beautiful and made of my favourite combination. I loved Anne of Green Gables growing up and the colours brought back memories of the vibrant colours of PEI and the show. The colour reminded me of the hats and flowers that were used 😀

Kindred spirits October 2020

This month’s colorway is “October was a beautiful month at Green Gables” and it’s absolutely gorgeous. It’s so warm and calming, and I can’t wait to get it on my needles! It’s a very deep golden yellow with flecks of brown. Totally makes me think of fall on Prince Edward Island when I look at it.
