Is Anne of Green Gables a kindred spirit for you? She is for me and so is knitting. It's the book and craft I reach for, time and again. My Kindred Spirits yarn club brings to life Anne's adventures on Prince Edward Island with a brand new colorway, every other month.
The next skein ships in FEBRUARY.
Join to receive just one surprise skein or subscribe to receive every new Anne of Green Gables-inspired colorway I create. The photo gallery shows the last year's worth of colors, so you can get a sense of my dye style.
Starting in December, club skeins are dyed on my most luxurious base: Cashmere Blend. It makes the most delicious shawls and works equally well for socks, mittens, and most any fingering weight project.
70% superwash merino, 20% cashmere, 10% nylon

3-ply construction for plush fabric and optimum stitch definition
If you want more than one skein, just sign up for multiple subscriptions.
See the second tab (above) for details on how the subscription is charged.
Shipping to US subscribers is on the house, and Canadian subscribers receive $10 flat rate shipping. If you are located anywhere other than the US or Canada, please order via my Etsy shop, which is set-up to handle VAT.
Subscribers are billed once every two months, and you can cancel at any time. If you leave your subscription in place, you'll get ongoing and wonderful yarn as long as I am dyeing new colorways!
Yarn ships in February, April, June, August, October and December.
You are billed for your subscription when you sign up and, thereafter, on the 15th of these months: January, March, May, July, September, and November.
Your box ships about a month after you're billed for it, and I will email you with a heads-up about a week before it ships so you know when to expect it.
Because this is an ongoing subscription, payment is by direct credit card only (processed through the super-secure Stripe service). Unfortunately, we aren't able to accept PayPal for subscriptions at this time.
If you ever want to cancel your subscription, just cancel by the 15th of the month before your yarn ships.

Yarn holds memory, feeling, hope and longing. It is the potential of wrapping a loved one in the warmest hug. It is a brisk spring evening cuddled by a fire. It is a summer night with the family, stargazing from the coziness of your campsite.
Targhee Sweater isn’t a showy yarn. It is soft and matte and thirsty for color, and its true glory comes when you touch it, work with it and wear it.
• It’s gentle on the earth: non-superwash, grown and spun domestically.
• It’s next to skin soft and durable for wearing. Targhee sheep are a new-ish breed of sheep that blend long and short wool specifically to make the perfect yarn for hand-knitters.
• My style of hand-dying and this yarn synchronize like peas and carrots. I create layers of color, with intentional dark blips to mimic low-contrast speckles when knit. The final fabric color is rich, layered, and squishy delicious.
Targhee Sweater can be used in most any pattern that calls for a gauge between 16 and 20 sts to 4 inches (10 cm). It looks best in garments where you want body (rather than drape).

Targhee Sweater is a robust worsted weight yarn. It is happiest at a gauge anywhere from 16 to 20 sts to 4 inches (10 cm). My favorite gauge for Targhee Sweater is 17 to 18 sts to 4 inches.
• Composed of 100% non-superwash Targhee wool.
• Ideal for sweaters, mittens, hats or cowls—anywhere you prefer a bit of body, rather than drape.
• Targhee is one of the newer sheep breeds and its wool is three-quarters fine wool (like merino) and one-quarter long wool, making it a wonderful combination of soft and strong.
• Read more about the Targhee sheep's fascinating history here.
Beauty in difference. Each skein is dyed by hand in small batches of just four skeins. There will be variations in color intensity and placement. I think that’s part of what makes each skein perfect – they’re not identical. If you will be using more than 1 skein in your project, alternate skeins to blend any color differences.
Hand wash and always air dry.
Targhee Sweater should always be hand-washed with a gentle wool wash and cold-water rinse.
Depending on the difference in chemistry between your local water and mine, there may be some color residue in the wash process. Washing and rinsing in cold water will help to minimize this.
Always let your knitted item air dry to prevent shrinking or felting and to keep it looking its best.
