Add a matching project bag to your kit:
If you'd like to immerse yourself in the happy memories of The Secret Garden, add on a large, zippered project bag in my original Secret Garden fabric.
The Secret Garden shawl was designed as a two-skein project, which results in a shawl that is approximately 57 inches wide and 17.5 inches deep. It sits beautifully across your shoulders. You can use a closure (button or shawl pin), or let it drape unsecured.
As I was creating this kit, I tested a recipe for a larger size because I wanted my personal shawl to wrap around. Your pattern includes my instructions (and a handy stitch count tracker) showing you how to make these modifications if you, too, would like a larger shawl. This larger version will use three skeins of yarn, and it is much wider at approximately 68 inches wide and 20 inches deep.
See the last two pictures to compare how the different sizes look when worn. The Misselthwaite Manor version (grey) is the original design size and the Hollyhock (dark pink) is the larger size.
