This listing is for the PDF pattern. You'll receive an immediate download link and a postcard in the mail with a code to add the pattern to your Ravelry library. The design is simple as can be: a stockinette tube, which takes advantage of one of the simplest and most enjoyable ways to knit with self-striping yarn: stockinette stitch in the round, allowing you to enjoy the magic of the color changes that happen automatically and encouraging you to knit just one more stripe.
While a stockinette tube cowl can easily be knit without a pattern, I’ve devised several simple strategies to make the finishing work as easy as the knitting: The cowl starts with the easiest of all provisional cast-on methods: Judy's Magic Cast-On; and both ends of the tube are closed and then joined with garter stitch, so that only half of the stitches need to be grafted in the end.
